fiction doesnt exist in a vacuum, it does affect reality, is it to the point of inventing whole new type of bigotry? of course not, but depending on whether it is accurate portraying or romanticizing, it can either raise awareness or further reinforce/trivialize already existing oppression such as racism ( like the tanned character with anger issue...... reply
