My memory is useless too so I set multiple alarms and reminders. Paper planners do nothing for me, so I put it as a task on my calendar app and set a reminder 10 hours, 1 hour and 30 minutes before and if it's really important, I set an alarm or two. It might be nothing, but I wonder if it could be adhd. A common sign of adhd is forgetfulness and struggling with deadlines and focusing. I always encourage getting diagnosed by a professional, but I know not everyone has that luxury. Maybe check to see if your uni has any free or low cost resources that you can take advantage of? Start with simple things like trying to remember what u had for dinner yesterday, then day by day try to remember what u had 4 days ago. Do this every week till u can remember last week!. Its a simple memory exercise + those flip the cards game. They can actually help you memorise. Coming from someonw who just studied abt this lol   reply
