What is love?

No not the twice song but the emotion we experience. I've always felt that love is just a prolonged dopamine rush, no different from a drug. Yes, I've had countless crushes but never this intense feeling of giving up everything to be with them. Sometimes I wonder if I even love my parents at all? or am just living through it with them just cause they're my parents.
What about people who promised of a love so great that they'll spend 7 lives with you but after your passing get another lover? What if I'm still waiting for you at the other side so we could walk together but you already have someone else?
