if you feel like you cant say no you can go and just linger for like 30, say hi to a few people and take a long restroom break come out for a bit and then leave. as for the drinking you should be able to just say that you don't drink for personal reasons but if you feel like that wont go over well then if its a bar situation you can order a soda in......
