what do you think about OP protagonists and their harems/reverse harems?
you know those shounen mangas where the men are popular without trying, have a harem but only really like one girl, and are always surrounded by strong / important people? (ex. Revenge of the Iron-Blooded Sword Hound) WHY ARE THERE NEVER ANY SHOUJO VERSIONS OF THIS TROPE?!??!? i yearn for more action and less romance/sex in shoujo mangas </3 don’t get me wrong it’s fun or whatever in moderation but a lot of the times it’s like the central focus of a lot of shoujos (shounens too). do you guys have any recommendations for me??
The answer is sexism. Even women who write Shoujo manga. There is a lot of internalized sexism.
I wish there is more shoujo action manga out there with reverse harem, but alas, very few. reply
