Like someone else said, theres no way authors and legal sites dont know about it but if people just go around bragging about reading illegally, sharing screenshots and dropping sites, it makes A LOT of noice. I dont think it will actually work, no. But being loud and proud on social media about pirate sites triggers certain people enough to seriously report the sites to be taken down. No it doesn't. But I don't think Years ago we used to hide these sites for gatekeeping solely. More than gatekeeping I just don't like this recent trend of being entitled enough to brag about reading illegally on a platform where countless Authors and Artists whose Works you're reading illegally are present.
