Gen Z-ers
As a younger gen z I was quite shocked with the realization that some gen z-ers are already nearing 30. It's weird to me because I hear headlines saying things like 'what the young people notice' (young people being gen z) and about gen z ideologies, values, movements and I think 'ok.. Ig this is my generation' thinking the people referenced in those are of a similar age range to me, but then realize that some gen z's are already in their 20s, some nearing 30s.
The older gen z's have been adults for a few years and already been establishing their worldview, voice and outlook on life, that it made me feel like gen z and the era of gen z is already defined, and that we're now anticipating the next generation, gen alpha, and what they'll be like. But I've realized, I'm of the younger demographic of gen z, and I haven't gotten my claws into the world yet, try to bring my own influence, feul the things I find value in, have the world bare witness to what I want to say or implement how I would act on things I care for.
I thought gen Z is already defined, but then realized the world has yet to have the younger gen z's take front stage. And I, as a younger gen z, want to be of influence not by posturing myself as more socially aware, demeaning people or things to signal I'm morally/socially superior, or to part take in a form moral outrage for social reward, but to instead have the world bare witness to how I choose to carry myself.
Anyway those are my thoughts after growing up with all this 'Gen-Z' noise and now on the cusp of taking on the world.
this is my personal opinion, but i feel like people are taking this way too seriously. gen z, gen alpha, millenials boomers who cares. the world goes on and life goes on. its always constantly changing. make sure you educated, can hold your own opinion but also be empathetic and accept when you may be wrong and need to change your mind.
tell life ......
