hot take (im sorry don't attack me pls)

TCF, ORV, SSS CSH, S-Classes that I raised, JJK, Tokyo Revengers, etc. These stories don't hype me up much at all. In fact, they're almost a little too boring for me. And I say this PERSONALLY.

I don't think I can stomach through too much jam-packed action mangas/manhwas/novels/webcomics now. Not like I used to 6 or so years ago when I was still a baby reader craving for some adrenaline.

How do you guys find it enjoyable to sit through all of those chapters just fighting, plotting, fighting, the occassional fillers, plotting again, so on and so forth?

Im not a big fan of action but I still enjoy a lot of action mangas BECAUSE of the characters arcs. I want to see them win and also grow, so I continue reading. reply

I read all generes, for action specifically I think world building and magic system keeps me hooked and the character development and interactions cuz lowkey yeah you get weekly readers syndrome when you’re reading 30 chapters of fight scenes its actually painful lol but everything else is actually pretty interesting reply

the fighting, the adrenaline, plotting, jam-packedness.... you already mentioned the reasons yourself. the reason YOU dislike it may as well be the reason OTHERS do. there's no need to get into the technicals of why and how, some things just fall under certain preferences and tastes. that's the beauty of having diverse genres. others may like the...... reply

Same reason I lost interest in and dropped ORV. It just went on forever with so much meat to it, I lost momentum reading it. But honestly I’m more drawn to black and white mangas that only have 1-3 volumes (5~ chapters per volume) so I was never built for long winded stories to begin with. 2 reply

What do you mean by plotting, by the way? You don't like when the story's plot moves forward or something? Not a fan of things happening?? I am more inclined to agree with you but only because I typically enjoy stories with a female lead more. Not that action packed stories cannot have a female lead, but they are often male-centered. The dominant stories in the shounen/action genre, first and foremost, is centered on a man (obviously) regardless if they have female characters shown to...... reply

Idk why you can’t handle it, I've been reading since I was a child and I love plot heavy stories with constant action. My favourite novel is Lord of Mysteries. I think it just depends on the quality of the plot? Most of the stories you named except for ORV aren’t that good and have pretty shallow plot that isn’t original at all. 1 reply

agree on some above but disagree on some too (the manhwa/manga) but welp its a matter of preference. personally i really enjoy character growth wheter its emotional or js physical, them getting stronger whats satisfied me. anw thats the thing that helped me sit thru w so many chapters. i too dislike most filler chapters but its still depend on th...... reply
