I felt like ya'll should know abt this since i posted about my kitten here.
On 1st March 2026, my 4 week old kitten, Bode (short for Baobao) died due to Feline Hepatitis. The woman who gave him to me had previously told me that the whole litter had a cold and that the kittens' conditions were bad. She requested me to take him fast. When i finally got him, i made sure to take good care of my baby. Unfortunately the care came too late.

I'm sorry if its graphic but i have to get this out of my chest
My baby was fine for the first few days. On the 4th day, his one eye closed due to some white discharge. I gently washed his eyes with a warm cloth in intervals.
The next day he started breathing with his mouth. He became lethargic, lost his appetite and became unresponsive. We rushed to the vet. They gave him oxygen but said there's nothing they could do to save him.
He drew his last breathe in my hands. While he gasped, i was shaking him and giving him cpr, i thought what if he survived? I regret it so much. I should have petted him during his last monuments. My baby must have been so scared. I'm sorry i couldn't be a good mother to you baby, i'm sorry mama failed. I hope u r in a better place now. I love u so much. Please forgive me.

Unfortunately all his siblings are also showing the same symptoms.
Edit- His siblings died too except for one. Rest in peace little angels.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You did what you could with what you knew. You got help as soon as you realized how serious the situation was. Don't be upset with yourself. If anything, you should be upset with the lady who knew the kittens were sick and didn't do anything about it. Did you pay for the kitten? I suspect she knew it was more serious than a "cold" and made you take one quickly because she knew they were probably going to die.

Also, for future reference, 4 weeks is too young for a kitten to leave its mom. They might start weaning at 4 weeks, but many kittens will still feed from their mom for a few more weeks. Ideally, kittens should stay with their mom until at least 8 weeks old, both for food and for behavioral reasons.
No i adopted this kitten. The lady is currently sheltering a stray cat (the mother of the kittens) with its babies. They are trying to find homes for the little ones cause she already has many pets and cannot afford more. She is a very caring and sweet lady. She even visited me to console me.
Thank you for your concern man, your words helped me lift my spirits.
Glad to hear that the lady is a good person. Hopefully in the future you can adopt another kitty.
I think you did the right thing. I think you'd regret it more if you didn't try and had to always wonder if there was a chance. I'm sorry for your loss. You did the best anyone could.
That genuinely makes me feel a lot better. You're right, i would have regretted not trying even more. Thanks twin, truly.
Aint commented on here in a minute, but I hope you know you tried your best. You gave that little guy love and care and affection, and made his life, while sadly short, a happy one where at least for a couple of weeks he was loved. RIP little bud and I hope you find peace OP
Thanks twin, your words meant a lot. I really needed to hear that
