Straight yaoi and yuri
The trope I keep seeing are always Traditional feminine x masculine even in queer works and it's so tiring seeing the same bland damsel in distress, misogynistic view of how women/feminity should act personality where they will ALWAYS be the bottoms. Same goes for semes how they must be dominant, butch/manly and powerful.
In recent yaois I have been reading, there's always that one frail, broke, submissive, weak, pathetic, cute, and bottom virgin twink that looks like a girl and their personality evolves solely in being a fucktoy and being pathetic. Then, there's their partner, the strong, manly, dominant, buff, fuckboy top seme. It's horribly written. It's as if the author is almost depicting the bottom to be womanly just because they're a bottom. Where is the masc x masc? Switches? Maybe even twink x twink? I have no problem with twink x masc but they're always so horribly written and presented.
Same goes for Yuri. It's always butch x feminine where the top must be manly and the bottom must be feminine. Okay Yuri lowk still cooks with these tropes but why does it always have to be masc top x feminine bottom? I don't see fem x fem or atleast them switching. It's somehow sexist in its own way like feminine must always be bottom and masculine must be top.
I don't have problem with twinks or feminine bottoms, it's just that the way they're badly written sometimes. Btw my english grammar is not good so I may have phrased things wrong so you can argue back and correct me but this is js my opinion

Actually, one of the main reasons I don’t read much yuri(pls don’t hate me) is BECAUSE of the lack of butch rep and 90% of it being fem x fem. I don’t really enjoy read romance’s where one of them is dainty and feminine which is why I only read masc x masc in yaoi.
