When did being "woke" become bad??

Like why is it used as an insult now just cus someone called out a certain problematic shit. I remember when the Superman movie came out and it was "woke" cus it showed basically what's happening in Palestine at the time calling out corrupt and shit government and manipulative media. You see people in this site use "woke" as an insult cus u shitted on their child porn. Im hella confused. Cause it's supposed to be good. Extreme activism exist, I can see how sometimes it can go bad and it's just purity culture however that's not even that common. People just say this shit to you when you hate the story for romanticizing rape and hate on a literal abusive ML.
