Only found out now that the purpose of this was whether if you want to notify other people the things you do in the site and NOT to actually hide the things you do in the site, I genuinely thought this "activity" setting was broken and it had no purpose at all since it doesn't really hide my reading list from other people. Turns out it had a whole different purpose all this time and thats why it wasnt "working"
