Spoilers are getting out of control

Remember when we used to be able to read the comments of different works and not be immediately spoiled? When I first started using this site (previous account), people actually checked the little spoiler warning box before commenting, or they at least put “spoiler” and hit the return button a couple times. I used to be able to look through the comments to get the general idea of the series I was thinking about reading. Get the overall vibe, you know, but now?? You can’t do that shit without immediately being hit with the whole story on the first page of comments.
Honestly, I blame the influx of new readers. They come from that clock and bird site, and they’re selfish af with no regard for other readers. They’ve completely changed the culture of site. I’d started relying on the comment review section more and more because they usually had summaries and info, while also marking spoilers, but they’re gone now, sadly. What’s so hard about marking spoilers, y’all? I just don’t get it. Maybe this site needs to be moderated. Maybe if commenting privileges were lost, people would do better.
