Why does everyone say the same thing??
Everytime I read the comments of a clearly fucked up manga there's always one comment saying "well if you don't like it don't read it" like bitch- are you fr?
Just because I don't like what's happening doesn't mean I'm just gonna drop that shit, I read it bc I don't like what's happening (if that makes any sense). People read for the shock and horror and every other fucked up thing in the manga, just because I say some normal shit about how I think r@pe is bad or unnecessary doesn't mean I'm not invested in the story or anything.
I have dropped many things because I couldn't stand what the author was creating, I even have a whole list dedicated to books that I finished and hated as some sort of badge saying "yeah I read it all, yeah it's just as bad as expected" or telling others "beware this is actually excusing some fucked up things. "
Is this just me who hates when people say this??? Like- it's so often I see it for manga I read that suddenly get fucked up or manga that had underlying issues that surfaced in a recent chapter.
Tbh I find the don't like don't read thing very annoying, just because you like it and express your thoughts on it doesn't mean you can expect people who dislike it to sit tight and be quiet. I get both sides tbh. people can definitely criticize messed up themes and talk about what makes them uncomfortable. but at the same time, if a manga or manhwa is genuinely affecting your mental state and making you uncomfortable af, why keep up with it? i personally would just step away. i usually suggest people stop or maybe take rest from it for......
