There’s been an increase in stories that are romanticizing slavery. I’m so confused, because the master-butler/servant/maid dynamic already exists. Why make the MC or love interest a slave? BL is the most overrated genre with the least amount of interesting stories. Though most people aren't really reading them for the plot anyway, based on how so many people always just go "erm it's yaoi/porn, don't expect it to be realistic/complex" and anyone who says they want more story-driven BLs are lying.
