Just finished reading a beautiful short story
here to recommend spending 30 minutes of your time on this beautifully written gem:
"The Phoenix Once Roamed"

The novel is just 7 parts and relatively short. The summary is a bit misleading since it's not dementia, but the MC is ill with brain damage. But yeah this left me with such a strong poignant aftertaste. This novel shows that some events can inevitably put two people together in completely different paths that love cannot bridge. Life is fickle. Though with completely different premises, it's a bit like how I felt when I watched 5cm per second. ANYWAY go read if you're bored it's kinda nice and bittersweet. It's not a bad ending and I'm happy for the FL's new life!

The reading site took forever to load but it was worth it. This was such a lovely bittersweet story. Can't even hate the crown prince, because it's clear he loved her but couldn't give her the happiness she deserved. I wish we got a few chapters of her life in Yan Zhou.
Thank you for sharing btw!
I thought it was my problem the site took long to load But yeah his path is too cruel for her. Rooting for FL's happiness. I woudl've been down to see other POV extras. Happy to share!!
........The summary says 'demented', which imo should be a slur. It is outdated and a very cruel way to call someone whom lives with mental incapabilities or a brain development issue. You know them 18th century asswipes and their way with words o_0
my sister would call me demented...I still hold a grudge LMAO ..
anyways, thanks for the recc'. I was just looking for a cry :(.. I need one rn!!
Yes I also remembered a beat late that it's the sad way ancient people treat mental illness, but i just left my comment since those who don't read historical might be confused contextually (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ Totally reasonable grudge to have with your sis. I also do the same thing and read sad things when i want to cry. Induced stress relief euphoria Enjoy!!
