Need comfort feeling defeated

I never used this feature before idek if I’m doing it right but I’m just feeling so defeated right now. My sister got me a monitor & pc around 6 months ago but I just got around to setting it all up bc I didn’t have a desk before. Well, once I set everything up, my monitor fell and broke ┗( T﹏T )┛ It was a little unstable because the monitor riser was a little too small for the stand but it seemed pretty sturdy… I did a few jump around the room tests and it didn’t wobble but when I adjusted my chair the monitor fell on my lap. Instantly my heart dropped and I feel terrible. All I can help but think is $280 down the drain and not even a day of using it… warranty doesn’t cover personal accidents (even if it did it would’ve expired) thanks for listening guys. I’d add a picture but I’m a bit embarrassed of my stupidity… On the bright side, new monitor coming tmrw… I’ll be getting a mount. Pixio pink wave px279 if ur curious
