I'm so tired of childhood arcs.
Like you start off the story with grown adults and now when the characters are finally making progress we have to see 30+ chapters of how they were like as kids. I get the gist. I didn't come here to read high-school lovers bruh. Go back to being adults and progressing your relationship.
Same thing with amnesia arcs.
Both so overused.
*characters finally progressing* BOOM *amnesia arc and we start from scratch* ???? Just end the story and make infinite side chapters or something bro.
Fine, amnesia arcs need more than 10 chapters but I'm not tryna see thr childhood arc for 30+ bro. It's never that deep and it makes me want to skip it all because it's never important. You've actually perfectly explained the background in the main story...and you're doing now is adding visuals that we didn't ask for. Better yet, use the side stories for the childhood/amnesia arcs
Sorry I just felt like ranting bc this one story I'm reading they're forever in their high-school days even though the story literally started off with them as grown adults.

Dude amnesia irritates me so much it grinds my gearsss literally no point in adding it ITS JUST FILLER. This isn’t an unpopular opinion but also whenever the mc is just constantly being raped and abused and NOTHING good happens to him like… why am I reading torture porn. It’s so gross and idk how people can stomach shit like that, esp if the entire plot is JUST rape…
LITERALLY. Authors only ever do amnesia arcs because they want to keep the story going and refuse to end it. Thats why theyrr never written properly. IT'S OKAY TO END THE MAIN STORY AND CREATE SIDES BRUH.
Also Kiss me liar or whatever that slop is called is similar to the other thing you mentioned because the ML was just pure GARBAGE.
I also hate when MLs or even MCs are straight up trash with no consequences or character development. The MC from Kiss me liar was literally being sexually harassed and almost raped and the ML was EXTREMELY nonchalant about it...then proceeded to say "so what? You should've let it happen" AND YOURE GONNA END UP WITH A GUY LIKE THAT? STAND UP BRUH

Can we add the “met as a child sometime in the past, so that explains everything else from here onwards” trope as well?
