One of my biggest fears are cockroaches. I can't even kill them, that's how terrified I am of them. I see one and I run the other way. Heights are the other things I fear, but I'm ok w/ flying. I can't even remember why I'm so terrified of cockroaches or heights, though.   reply

Most mainstream shonen. Granted, I’m way past that age, but I tried reading Blue Lock because it sounded interesting and I like soccer, but I read the first few chapters and I just couldn’t get over the ridiculousness of the premise. I do both, for various reasons, and it’s not an excuse, just the way it is. Sometimes I like a story, but don’t like the way it has been handled by the “professionals”, so I won’t buy. The characters. I’m a character driven reader, so I don’t care about genre as much as I care about what the characters are doing. They could be awful, but they need to be interesting (at least to me).   reply

Toxic relationships. In fiction, if the author is not portraying them realistically, then I don’t mind them and actually like the arrogant a-hole being brought to his knees by the love interest.   reply

It didn’t really affect me because I started reading when I was 18 and even though 18 is not the magic number, at least it was “age appropriate”.
