I often have this thought about works that tackle more dark/tragic themes too. People often see them and then go 'omg this author's amazing, this story is the best thing ever' but I feel like the theme is just often misused in attempt to make the story seem more sophisticated and then it falls short of that attempt and ends up feeling more complica......

Yaoi is better than yuri most of the time due to supply and demand, there's larger demand for it therefore more choice and higher quality from so many authors to choose from, and competition between them is more prevalent than between yuri authors. doesn't mean yuri can't be as good or even better, I'm just saying tho like give me 100 yaoi and 100 ......

hate hate hate HATE monologues like even if they're done well I swear there's a better way to go about the dialogue instead of an unprompted long speech, I prefer when it's smart and concise dialogue that gives away a lot over monologues that are often misused or done poorly that make the scene seem extremely forced and unnatural
