The only opinion I disagree with is the Head cannon one. They are (by Webster definition)

You should’ve just asked if they were queer and liked reading queer literature. Would’ve hit a lot more comfortably then “do you read boys love”, which btw sounds a lot weirder when you say it out loud opposed to a more generally American accepted word like queer people
