I don't think it's weird. But it also depends on whether it's closer to 3 or 1 year. Also on whether you're in similar situations. Is he in your class? If he's graduating he's gonna be in college/work/whatever soon while you stay in school and that creates difficult power dynamics. But in general i don't think it's weird. I block very rarely because of that. It's an unsatisfactory way to end a discussion and I prefer people being able to say their opinion so we can talk about it. I have the same experience with a friend and i also wonder. Like someone else said, nose blindness is a thing and if you're used to a smell you won't detect it. But at the same time i wonder... what about when you leave the shower?
