I have the same experience with a friend and i also wonder. Like someone else said, nose blindness is a thing and if you're used to a smell you won't detect it. But at the same time i wonder... what about when you leave the shower? As a German (it's 4am here): Make sure that you will get irl classes or some kind of exchange program where you meet people.
