I've been dating this guy for awhile. And, well, he is alright. He is really sweet, and i think he does care about me. BUT my parents HATE him, they call him irresponsible, a bad influence, etc etc. and honestly they prob aren't wrong? He's a pothead (not that they know that), has underage drunk, and plans to join the army straigt out of HS (basically, his grades suck). Meanwhile I am a very education-focused person, care about my grades, and am WAY too much of a pussy to do anything that may affect my chances of getting into college.
And honestly, call me selfish, but i dont think i personally have the emotional compacity to date someone long distrance, constantly risking their life for 4 years.

Im a 17 year old starting their Junior year next week, (dont make fun of me, I got held back in middle school. Anyways, ive been a straight A student since then lol) And ive been STRESSING STRESSING STRESSING about wtf to go to college for.
My original plan was this, right? Go to a state college for criminal justice, then join law enforcement when I graduate. Smooth sailing, right?
WELLL I was told by a cop that majoring in criminal justice is actually NOT a good choice. This is because if you dont get hired as a cop, its practically a useless degree. So he recommended that I go in for something else, that way even if I dont get hired as a patrol officer, I can still get a job at a department.
Okay, well now im stressed tf out. Since middle school this has been my plan, crimina justice, police academy, cop. Now my plan is in SHATTERS. I have no clue what to major in college.
Ive actually considered joining the military, but that just seems like a waste of my good grades. Not to mention my record of mental health issues. and the current world situation, PROBABLY wont make that pretty.
should i just drop being a cop? go into something else instead? but being a cop has been my dream forever uuuggghhhhh... guys HELP college is so close
