Probably because of the difference in the amount of like people in the fanbase, I'd say there's like more than 2 times the amount of yaoi fans to yuri fans, and like with the bigger fandom comes toxicity, and like some intellectuals that notice the bad parts of the genre. While I agree with a lot of this, I do think that some of the stuff you mentions in the stereotype area, I think some of the tropes are just from like negative tropes in anime in general. Like the rapist and victim fall in love and like way younger and way older person and the student and teacher thing.   1 reply
