this is actually pretty common in our country (sadly) and i think there's an Facebook group for that (coz I remember looking for a CCA job which has a lot of Chinese handlers, they always look for a Filipina wife because we are "submissive" they say lol smh)

i knew this when i was in 6th grade but i shrugged it off coz my parents reason was always 'i love u that's y we're doing this', i always believe that its normal, that they're doin' those for my sake lmao, now they don't physically discipline me coz i'm already 'grown up' but damn i wish they will coz verbally 'discipline' hurts more, shouting hurt......
