To be fair, any mythology that is retold is bound to deviate, the only difference is the scale. Look at journey to the west. You have some pretty accurate 1-to-1 adaptations, then you have something like dragon ball. One of my fave manhuas has a gay pixiu and a tech-CEO emperor fengdu. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ It's not exclusive to fictional works too.......   reply
