I think you're right. The kid harbored ill intent and possessed anastacius' body. I'm still ail torn because it's depicted that anastacius was kind to claude right? I still think that the reason his body is weak and shakes sometimes is because it's not his body
This is just my theory. I think after Claude killed his brother, his brother's body then was possessed by the past emperor. I don't remember in which chapter, but Lucas had mentioned his past about he don't want to teach the emperor kid because he looked weak (?). Then, Athy told Lucas that the emperor was the most powerful emperor in the empire and Lucas didn't believe it. I think that emperor was the one who possessed Athy's uncle's body. That's why he can't meet Lucas right now because Lucas will know right away about who he is.
