i personally think he called his wife to patch things together (he's still wearing the wedding ring if you notice). like suda said, he had two things and lost both of them. momo went to somewhere unreachable. so that leaves the wife who left a note saying "i'm leaving. pls think abt this" soooo....

He was calling his wife, not Momo. He already said Momo was unreachable to him (ie with his new lover.)
