when dragons make somebody their companion, they share their dragon heart granting the companion their long nearly endless lifespan. their lives become linked together so they will be alive together for the rest of their lives and if one dies, the other does too. wendy finds out when they get married so in a few chapters and then she beats him tf up and leaves for the city again. not many chapters later, they meet again and he’s super sorry but she doesn’t forgive him bc he doesn’t regret it. some other stuff happens (backstory type stuff) and they get back to talking again so to answer ur last question, yes this fight lasts longer and wendy is angry on another scale

during the vows, he gives her his heart which means she won’t die unless he dies and he won’t die unless she dies. they’ve become (almost) immortal together
