I don't think so...I agree that they might be possessed both of them by an evil spirit but I don't think the seme died...it more like he understands that he can use that evil spirit at is convenience
Seme interacts with people outside the house so I don't think he's dead but he didn't forget what happened to his parents so he's aware of what's going on for sure
I think seme died long ago.. And it's the seme's ghost.. Cause I feel like seme knows everything what is going on.. About that hands,, about disappearance of people,, about mirror.. Or my be seme is possessed by some evil spirit so he knew everything about what's going on and he even wrote a novel.. So i think he knows everything..
