I think everyone does. I've been reading ahead in the the novel, and I'm still waiting for the purple head girl to develop a personality.

Same here. The Nie Li seems to obsess over the purple haired girl because of his previous life, but he forgets that she doesn't share those memories. Orange girl is a way better fit.
