This is potentially a spoiler, but could someone please tell me why Ian is all of a sudden trying to fuck Jeremy?? I'm not quite done with the manga yet I have about 10 more chapters but wtf? You take him back to the source of his trauma, provide a house and means for him to get help, make him promise not to continue prostitution, but then PAY HIM to have sex with YOU??? When did he even develop feelings for Jeremy? Literally, I go from not caring about Ian to liking him to hating him to forgiving (not really) him to then hating him all over again and then being straight-up confused. If anyone could offer an explanation I would REALLY appreciate it.

Honestly, I have no idea. I was literally thinking about this the whole time as well, but there really isn't a coherent answer given in the manga either? It really is fucking bonkers when you think about it, like one minute they’re just stepbrothers and the next minute, boom, suddenly they wanna fuck each other? And in the synopsis that’s supposedly what the whole point of the story is, that Ian is overcome with lust for Jeremy, but for real, WHY? How did we get from point A to point B? People are saying this is a realistic manga; in terms of that relationship, there’s nothing realistic about it. You don’t just suddenly have the urge to bang your stepbrother, or kiss him, when you’re supposedly angry at him for murdering your family. And I personally think this was just a messy attempt at trying to make a BL that was “different.” There’s just too much vagueness, too much nonsense, too much “poeticness” in a sense, to the point that everything feels detached and you come to a point where you can’t sympathize with any of the characters and you can’t make sense of what’s happening, especially towards the second half of the story. So based on that, I’d tell you not to worry too much because there really isn’t a good explanation. It comes down to flawed writing, which is the mangaka’s fault, not the readers. The entire premise of Ian and Jeremy’s relationship is just one huge clusterfuck, and if you ask me, I think both of them are assholes in their own way (with Ian obviously being the bigger one.)

Thank you both for at least trying to explain this bs. Glad to know I'm not the only one confused! The story was completely fine (fine as in it made logical sense) up until Greg's death then it just went downhill from there. As dark as this sounds, I honestly thought Jeremy would commit suicide by the end of the manga, in fact, I was expecting it considering how dark the manga is already. DEFINITELY wasn't expecting it to go the route it did. Maybe I'm not smart enough to understand the deeper meaning of this.

No you're def smart enough. Zedmeisters comment explains it very well. Story does fall off after the accident and the Ian stuff is unrealistic as hell, and the "poeticness"... and yeah especially about Jeremy, he goes back to "normal" so quickly in london. even if he acts up sometimes, it's just not realistic. Bad writing unfortunately, most of it from trying to force the bl angle.
