Recommend to read the novel if you want to know more about the main character. In my opinion, the novel is better than the manhwa because it gives you more details of the scenes

I did plan on reading it, but it's long and I like to binge-read so I'm giving it some time to get work done first.
I'm glad it does get explained, though, because this would really get old if the MC didn't get to grow as a character.
That's a wise choice lol.
The raw is not completed yet and the translator group has to removed the novels due to the negotiations between the group and the author. Now I'm also waiting for it to be completed and translated. Hope the old group can pick it up. Their translation were good. (⌒▽⌒)
Trust me the more you read this story the more you'll understand why his character developed into what it is currently. It's all a part of the ride with incredible twist and turns. Besides that it makes for a nice running gag that breaks up the tension seeing him try so hard to deny his good deeds and heroic nature.
So when I first started this, I was put off by the MC's personality, but if I think of it more as he's just tsundere (his actions being much kinder than words) then it's easier. The author should have given him more backstory to explain how he ended up that way, 'I was abused as an orphan' is not nearly enough, it would probably be faster to count how many protagonists aren't orphans or living under some special family conditions.
Other than that, it's great so far. seeing how far the novel has gone though, there's a long way to go to catch up.
