I think when we love someone we suppot him/her and his/her decisions anyways... I didin't like my father second girlfriend (now he's married with the woman he dated after her), but I still was respectful with her and tried to know her better (and I was 11 at the time). It also happened to me with my little sister: his first boyfriend was a cutie, very nice guy but they were both so young and I thought it was not the right time to date, but I still supported her.
The brother with the brother complex cut the boyfriend's hair to suit his younger brother's taste. In his own way it's him accepting and approving of their relationship.
So cute.
