No she didn't know he cheated before. She showed up late again and he spun it around like that was the reason he was breaking up with her, constantly being an hour or more late to meeting with him and therefore choosing work over him. He made it seem like the break up was her fault and didn't announce his relationship with a new girl until 3 months later. Even then, she never knew who the new girl was even when he was getting married a year later.
