The webtoon unfortunately didn't really portray the novel well. Etoire was the one that asked but she's doing it for Ripley(because the duke asked and silence ensue, tbh it was pretty funny). The novel was being portrayed in a light-hearted fashion(mostly because the story is being narrated and viewed from Ripley's POV).
Anyways, I can understand that some people don't like the main characters. They're obviously really flawed, particularly Ripley since she's the MC and she doesn't really possessed the typical MC-buff(lol). But well since this is the typical rom-com genre, if this is your thing then I hope you'd stay for the ride. And if it wasn't, then hopefully you'll find other webtoon that can satisfy you.
? I dont really get what you're saying is the reason Etoile asked. Personally I think the Duke has more flaws than Ripley but both have become pretty unlikable. I never said I planned on dropping since the story feels like its basically over now. It's seems like its only shenanigans now but I never intended to drop it depsite my dislike of the characters.
I think people are forgetting she didn't suggest that the duke pretend to be Etoile's lover ╮(￣▽￣)╭ FL originally wanted to get Etoile and Wright closer but instead the duke had to butt in and do this whole "I'll make you jealous" shenanigans and honestly tho it kinda annoyed me because why would you want to see your lover suffer while watching you hold another in your arms? #－.－)
