Well as i see it, he didn't ruined her work. He used it the best way he could. If its not for her work, he'd be dead by that moment and there would not be a chance to understand his wrongdoings and apologise.
I don't think he did. Rather, i think he collapsed from stress and from climbing the tower. He was already pushing himself by heading to the palace without resting.
But then again, it's still a possibility that he jumped as a way for atonement....
I didn't expect this to turn into a really interesting conversation, but I'm in for it!!! I think that maybe he ether jumped or tried, but will survive requiring medical attention again. I don't know, but i don't think this ark will close this soon... Who knows
