the sexual assault made him unable to feel joy, interest or pleasure for things, which is quite sad u_u it also explains why even if he is worried about kazune (i think that was the name of the girl with an E.D) he doesn't really feels likes he cares and why he can't show concern in a healthy way
people who experience sex related traumas as children will always develope mental health issues when they're older, and if it happens more than once or if it's something just too big and they don't get help and support right away they usually develope dissociative dissorders and have their trauma affect their identity, and at least this last part is what i see present in him u_u
i appreciate that the author didn't made sara a savior, because the trauma is still there, but she is presented as someone whom he can explore different aspects of life with and look into his own identity
i think that's why you find it uncomfortable, because the trauma was represented in a complex and realistic way yet it was part of a love story which of course is kind of rare to see and it may look like these two things don't belong together but that's also very realistic because is what happens in real life uwu
Yeah i think so too. Maybe bcs its kinda realistic and its rare to see a manga with storyline like this but still i enjoyed the manga and the way he cope with his traumas is very interesting and to see he finally get better little by little is so satisfying . I read this manga 2 years ago and idk why this manga is kinda disturbing for me . Like idk maybe they way the story flow make me uncomfortable. Even when i reread it again it give me chills maybe bcs of the sexual assault and the anorexic girl. But the storyline is pretty good though. Anyway im happy for him that he got the happy ending he deserves :)) kinda hope they make a sequel of sekine and the girl sweet scene tho
