Pressed? I'm just tired of seeing the same trope used in literature over and over again. I'm well aware of the history of manipulation using religion, that's not what this is about. I even used isekai as an example to express that i don't hate it, i just want to see something different because it constantly what's used to the point where as soon as you hear something about a mysterious church, you know they are gonna be the bad guy in most works. Just like how if you see someone walking down the street in an isekai, you know they are likely going to get hit by a truck. I wanna see something different, something that's not as easily predictable about what's gonna happen because the same formula keeps getting used over and over again.

Though I'd really like to know what you mean by pressed. Like isekai, I'm bored of the oversaturation of the evil church trope but it's not like I'm gonna stop reading just because of that.

I said pressed as in the context as it is used in AAVE. Pressed is an adjective. Meaning to be very upset with something or someone. You are upset about the over use of the “ bad guy Church “ though it has been used a lot as the people in the comments have said the church, im guessing they are referred to the catholic church and Christian faith in general are not wrong in the sense that the Church was not good. I asked “ I have a question are you upset because it's over used or because of it's misrepresentation” to see why you are upset in your first statement it lacked a religious tone but I still had to ask. I asked what you meant by pressed because I dont understand where you're getting this idea that I'm upset. Lol It's not that deep dude, you're reading way too much into this. It's not the end of the world if the trope is overused and keeps happening but I'm allowed to express my opinion of being bored of seeing the same bad guy over and over again as I'm sure people were back when the Demon King was the same big bad in games and manga time and again.

As for what to replace the church with as a big bad? Probably anything but an evil step mother/jealous sister as those are equally being overused right now. For this story in particular though, with the amount of divinity/holy maiden undertones, it would be a nice twist if the church turned out to be surpressing her magic because of something they are trying to keep her safe from, making it look like they were the bad guys when they weren't... But considering her revelations on the book, Persona... I don't have much hope for something different than the usual.
