It's thanks to cancel culture... Ppl are looking for things to complain about in everything. So toxic.
Because wanting a diff/new story is a bad thing? And the desire to have new stories/ reinvent old ones doesn't just come from reader, I dont think authors set out to write the same story for the 1000th time. I get how hating things for hating sake can be annoying, but thats diff from dissatisfaction with current tropes
People complaining be like:
Omg theres not enough gay genre
Authors invent yaoi
Omg there's not enough spice and goodness to it...
Authors invent omegaverse w m/preg
Omg why is it always omega and alpha...
Omg it's totally unrealistic...
