Im not ignoring the fact that Rei was also abused and put into a marriage in which she was only used for breeding the children Endeavor wanted. With that being said, she still rubs me the wrong way especially with how she treated Shoto. Aside from the fact of not only traumatizing him emotional, mentally and psychologically he gave him a big ass scar that will forever remind him of that incident and how he was compared to a man who abused him. Let’s say we can blame that incident on Rei’s built up stress and fear(which it was) but the fact that she made Shoto feel like that was HIS fault and the reason she was placed in a hospital was also his fault is fucked up. And she had to nerve to say something along the lines of “I accept your apology” shoto never had to apologize for anything, being abused doesn’t give you a pass to become an abuser yourself. Rei’s been through shit but when you abused your own child (whether with intent or not) it’s your responsibility to apologize to them not try to pull the victim card yourself.
