That's partly a reason. Did you forget that he suffered just because hes the 7th consort son? Not only that he beg the fucking slime ball kinf for the blue herd and he refuse to give him it not only that everyone look down on him just because hes the 7th consort son. So even if the will change or didn't exist he would have still be the tyrant because he want everyone to suffer the same amount of pain he suffer. That's how all tyrants think and in order to know that you gotta think like a tyrant and remember all insult you got from thoese that looked down upon you, remember the pain they cause ,and those who laughed at you. Well I like her explanation. Cause it's just like the mc said: 1st she need to save him that he can become her tyrant. Only because she's on his good sides doesn't mean he forget about all the others that did him and especially his mother wrong :)
