poor Jeanette...

I actually feel really sorry for Jeanette...
She never asked to be born as an illegitimate child of the late emperor AND to be cursed on top of that! All she ever wanted was family.

When she lived with the Alpheus family she still somehow felt like she didn't belong there, like it just wasn't her place to be in, even tho she clearly likes Ijekiel to some extent.

Then she was told she was the emperor's daughter and that she has a sister, I can only imagine the Joy she must have felt!
She started dreaming of the day she would finally be together with her family. All she ever wanted was to have a happy life with Claude and Athy.

And now all is violently ripped away from her just because Anastacius seems to be weirdly possessed by someTHING or someONE and he created this poor cursed child that didn't even fit in his plan at first!

IDK it just feels wrong to blame and hate her. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

Oh dear... you're in for a ride with the novel... As you may know, this is Athy's third life. The first two were excruciatingly painful for her because of Jeanette's appearance. Jeanette was happy when she first came to know about her being a "child of Claude". But she ends up hogging all of Claude's attention and was, mind you, getting into her head. Don't forget that Jeanette first appeared at Athy's debut to society :')). She takes Athy's place, hogs Claude all to herself AND got Athy's executed in TWO LIFETIMES. Claude felt guilty after finding out Athy wasn't the culprit to the tea poisoning and what did Jeanette say? "It's okay father, don't think about it". LIKE- ASJICKRSK she's a conniving little bitch and Athy's suffered enough. I have zero ounce of pity left for her because she's STILL hurting and causing Athy pain AGAIN in her third fucking lifetime ?!! It would probably be okay if Athy doesn't remember all that but she does :')). And that's so fucking painful for her considering she's done nothing wrong and was kind to Jeanette then and now...

Also, Claude's in such a state partly because of her being such a doll full of bad omen. Now that she knows of her biological father, she can go bye bye and leave Athy and Claude the fuck alone ^^

wow, I didn't expect this to get so much attention! Anyway thank you for clarifying some stuff, I didn't know it was their third cycle. Now I kinda get why you hate her but, Jeanette doesn't remember her last two lifetimes, right? So she has no idea how much misery she has caused them two. I bet she didn't even know she was cursed.

Yes, she could see the late emperor as her father and leave Athy and Claude alone but she already got attached to them... It will be hard to let them go just like that.
And I can not imagine leaving her with Anastacius like, he is possessed by something! He cursed an unborn child! How on earth would anyone expect him to be a good father figure??

I get that my arguments aren't based on something very solid and may be flawed, I didn't read the novel or anything like that. I just still think it's wrong to put all the blame on her when she didn't ask to be cursed. Yes I get she was and still is selfish but who wouldn't? It is her deepest desire to have a familial connection to someone and she had it! She did anything she could to protect what she got. And let's not forget that she lost in the end too. Her "father" and "sister" died cuz her real father used her and made her biggest desire be the thing that caused her and her family's demise.

Idk seems kind of a depressing life to me

I don't have a solution yet, I really hope the author finds a way to sort things out and they all get to have a happy end. Kind of bold of me to hope that but I guess hope dies last... How do they say this in English?? Nevermind, thank you for reading my rant, clarifying some stuff and for sharing your opinions! It is always nice to hear other points of view!
