I dont think you understand how the media and literature affects people's real life view on the identity of the characters being portrayed sorry some people are so simple minded that you want to read whatever you want without feeling uncomfortable that you ignore and undermine a real issue in the yaoi community,
Because this absolutely does produce a stigma on gay men that is hard to rub off. Negative stereotypes for all identities have produced real life consequences. YES every single negative stereotype on whatever identity has been amplified by the media /literature whether its in movies or COMICS or books. whether these stereotypes have been used for comedic relief or propaganda these socially constructed stereotypes or stigmas have been amplified by fiction alot of the time and have affect on real people.
you can argue that its fictional but then that would be a surface level take because then you couldn't deny how much literature, media play a huge role into creating stigmas and how people view specific demographics. * I've had people use yaoi as an excuse as to why gay men shouldn't be able to adopt kids*
mind you lets not ignore how it is 99% Cis gendered women exploiting these stereotypes and another 99% of that demographic enabling.

Also imagine yaoi being the biggest and also one of the rarest form of media for queers to turn to and the genre being stigmatized by constant toxic and harmful tropes thats not okay. im not here to be morally superior to anyone in anyway, but I wont downplay actually people who wants to call out the literal MESS in the community by getting defensive and not understanding?? Or just being straight in denial of all of the mess.
While that may be hypocrisy as I am still indulging in the same toxicity I call out im not here to play pretend or be morally superior. But I think we can all acknowledge and be on the way to bettering the community and getting rid of the stigmas on the genre as to helping bring forth a more positive form of media of gay romance for queers to turn to.
now im sorry that none of this backed by scientific evidence as you may haved hoped but do what you please with my answer. i did all of this for you.

You didn't answer my question though. You used a completely different topic to justify your statement. A lot of yaoi characters aren't even gay. And if they are, their sexuality is only used to portray them as miserable.
I also don't see how any of this is relevant when talking about an incubus raping a human in a fantasy webtoon. The actual relationship between Rix and and Nuah is rather healthy. I agree that there are harmful stereotypes but I don't see how those stereotypes have anything to do with demons and human traffickers who were never labeled as gay.
Keep up the good fight but I think you're on the wrong battlefield here.

I called out the toxicity in yaoi generally which is the question you replied to?? I never specifically said anything about the webtoon rix vanus in the question you replied to. It seems as if your whole point is getting off to me being wrong and you proving me wrong specifically to feed your ego or ease ur guilt. Or something idk. And haha alot of YAOI characters aren't even gay... yeah ok. Sexuality only used to portraye the character as miserable.. huh? & Bringing up the dramatic fantasy elements of this webtoon only just seems as you're deflecting from the real issue people are calling the author out on anyway! Have a nice day.

You accused someone who wrote about Rix Vanus, the webtoon this topic section is dedicated to, of normalizing rape in yaoi and to cause deeper problems. Obviously I thought there was a connection to the webtoon.
" It seems as if your whole point is getting off to me being wrong and you proving me wrong specifically to feed your ego or ease ur guilt."
No, it was not. I specifically told you that you can just say no and that I wouldn't ridicule you for that. I would highly appreciate it if you could stop judging people's personality based on one comment.
"And haha alot of YAOI characters aren't even gay... yeah ok. Sexuality only used to portraye the character as miserable.. huh?"
Yes that's a big issue. Many people don't read yaoi because they want to read about a gay relationship. They want a straight relationship but with two men, with one of them representing the woman. Often, when a character is actually gay, he's the uke and he rejects the straight seme (or has no specific sexuality but he definitely can't be gay because then the female straight reader can't see herself as the uke) because he doesn't want to drag him into his horrible gay world and take the straight happiness of a wife and children away from the seme. But thank god, the brave straight knight is selfless enough to sacrifice his straight life to rescue the uke from the gay misery he's in. But hey, those stories are usually praised for being progressive since the straight audience doesn't realize how insulting that is.
" Bringing up the dramatic fantasy elements of this webtoon only just seems as you're deflecting from the real issue people are calling the author out on anyway!"
I thought you weren't talking about this story in particular? And again, I'm asking you which real life issue an incubus rape scene in a story with a healthy gay relationship is supposed to cause?
Um y’all know your still going to read this why are you guys lying anyways it’s not like any of these comments influence the author since thus is an illegal site...yes rape was shown lightly but I still kinda like those chapters um yeah see y’all in the next update
