I’m pretty sure he gets to see colors as he experiences different emotions. For example he only saw red after the emperor betrayed him and he was angry so maybe red = angry. So maybe the past female lead helped him go through different emotions and made him see all the colors. Idk just my opinion. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

Wait if he's colorblind from birth, then how can he know what red looks like??
