What really is true?

Is the King bad or not? I mean he wants the hero to marry Charlotte because he wants him to succeed the Perol household since the trash is a trash and he doesn't know the abilities of Charlotte , so he thought that she might be a pamper child who won't be able to handle the household. So basically he wants to secure the household through the hero's help though it might have seemed like an evil plan to us.

Also, the animosity between him and his brother, I wonder if that really is true or is there some sort of other meaning behind it. The King seems greedy but also wants some goodness to others. I don't know. Lmao!
