I think we completely miss the idea of Jayna experiencing trauma, a betrayal so large that it scarred her fundamentally. Cassiel's betrayal in the first life was something far worse to Jayna than we think it was. Her childhood lover suddenly fell for someone else, broke all their promises, left her behind, and worst of all turned on her without the slightest bit of hesitation.
Jayna had to endure years of being ignored by Cassiel, and then years of rumours and gossip of being abandoned. So Jayna can't see him the same anymore because she's seen and experienced that cruelty that she never wants to go through again. Think of it like, a woman being afraid of men due to a really bad past experience.
I don't believe that Jayna is completely in the moral right, however, I don't believe that we should expect her to see Cassiel for who he is now, if who he was then was a possibility.
YES!!!! Exactly... We shouldn't expect Jayna to understand Cassiel in this life. She's clearly been through things that won't be easily forgotten. respectfully horny <3
Yesss these comments. You can especially tell how traumatized she was when you go back to when she and cassiel first met again in this life. She looks so heartbroken and so clearly disgusted
