One thing I like about this story, is Geenie's attachment to her first family. I feel sorry for her current one, but it gives her character depth and it feels realistic. Even if I got yeeted into a supercool magical world, I'd miss my friends and family so much. And smartphones, rock music, vibrators...
Still hope she can connect to them later though. I'm really curious about her siblings too.
