The dad didn't want her to enter a monastery so he lied that she had a fiance since she was born, then he secretly called the mc's father to ask him to go along with the lie and make the mc be that fiance. You did read it from right to left (like we're supposed to in Japanese manga), right?
I did read it from right to left but I think I read it wrong. I just reread it and it's like I read a different thing. But I guess I feel bad for both of them because neither of them wanted this. We can just blame their fathers
